Author Talk: Kim Sherwood On Hurricane Room

Catch author Kim Sherwood discussing her new book Hurricane Room, the finale of her Double O trilogy, on 19th May at Topping & Company Booksellers of Edinburgh. A diehard fan of Fleming’s writing and 007’s cinematic adventures since childhood, Kim’s acclaimed series of Double O novels expand the world of James Bond.

The return of 007. Agent 003, Joanna Harwood, has finally found James Bond after years of searching. All she has to do is get him out of Russia alive and convince him to trust her again.

A mission for revenge. But Bond trusts no one. And he wants revenge on Mora, the monstrous figure at the head of Rattenfanger – a terrorist organisation with links to the past.

Game: Shadow Of SPECTRE

A real-world game experience, London

Experience a James Bond treasure hunt across London. Made in collaboration with immersive pioneers Hidden City and the producers of the Bond films, 007: Shadow Of SPECTRE is a treasure-hunt-style game which blends interactive gameplay with real-world exploration.

007 has been targeted. MI6 needs you to investigate. Gather intelligence, navigate the city and solve clues in a bid to outsmart SPECTRE. Your mission, in teams of 2–6 players, is to become an MI6 agent, working with Moneypenny, Q Branch, and other characters to solve a trail of clues left by Bond. To crack the case you must follow the clues sent to your mobile and embark on a journey across the city. You’ll go undercover in secret locations and decipher clues as you solve the mystery of what happened to James.

Along your adventure you will uncover dead drops, engage with enemy associates, seek out private libraries, stalk through 17th century taverns, and sleuth through 5-star hotels. Optional breaks allow aspiring agents to rest and rejuvenate at select locations during their mission. Buy tickets here.

Welcome to 007 Elements, a unique installation dedicated to the world of James Bond. Embedded in the top of Sölden’s Gaislachkogl Mountain, the breathtaking location is featured in 2015’s Spectre, the film which brought Blofeld back to the centre of the story.

Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won the Allied Forces World War II. The five-star, critically lauded comedy musical is based on Operation Mincemeat, a successful British deception operation of the Second World War. Rumoured to be conceived or part planned by Lieutenant Commander Ian Fleming, then working at the heart of Britain’s Naval Intelligence Division, the operation set out to disguise the 1943 Allied invasion of Sicily.
