Double O trilogy author Kim Sherwood will be appearing at Wigtown Book Festival, for an event talking about her latest book, Hurricane Room, in conversation with Stuart Kelly. 

Meet the woman who gave James Bond a new lease of life. In 2021 Edinburgh-based author Kim Sherwood was anointed by the Fleming estate to tackle the 007 universe and deliver new Bond stories. Five years later she has completed three books: Double or Nothing, A Spy Like Me and this year’s Hurricane Room. Previously known as a historical novelist, Sherwood is now considered one of the best post-Fleming interpreters of 007, bringing his original characters into the 21st century with real panache. How did she update a literary legend while staying true to the spirit of the original? And which member of her own family played a part in the James Bond movies?
